‘Shaded Journey’ 30 x 24” A scene of past times
in rural Australia painted in ochres and burnt
greens hints of the Golden Era of Australian art when
subjects were primarily man working the land and the
isolation that accompanied that life-style. Many of
these rural scenes were inspired by life the artist
experienced and witnessed while at the station of Bob
Dern, west of Coolah.
